SALEM, Mass. - Behind the generous support of 363 donors, Salem State University Athletics raised $31,132 during the annual 1,854-minute Viking Warrior Day campaign, setting a new program record for dollars raised in the nine-year history of the event. The University as a whole raised $188,832 with 743 donors, with Athletics accounting for nearly 48 percent of the total donors to the campaign.

SALEM, Mass. - On Tuesday, April 28, the Salem State University Athletics Department will participate in Viking Warrior Day, a 1,854-minute giving event that celebrates the impact of philanthropy. SALEM, Mass. - Join the Salem State athletic department as the school welcomes three-time Super Bowl champion and former Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson on March 23 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. inside Twohig Gymnasium. This event is mandatory for all student-athletes, but others outside of athletics in the Salem State community are more than welcome to join.

SALEM, Mass. - For the second straight season, Salem State women's basketball forward Ernidia Goncalves (Everett, Mass.) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Defensive Player of the Year while also earning a spot on MASCAC All-Conference First Team. She becomes the first Viking in program history to have won back-to-back MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors based upon available data. In her career with Salem, Goncalves has earned All-Conference honors each season and was All-Conference First Team for the second time in her tenure with the Blue and Orange.

SALEM, Mass. - For the fourth time this season, Salem State women's basketball senior Ernidia Goncalves (Everett, Mass.) earned New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) a spot on the weekly honor roll. Tuesday's recognition is her first time on the NEWBA First Team of the Week, while she has earned spots on the NEWBA Second Team of the Week three times this year.

SALEM, MA. - Despite a monstrous 29 point double double from Ernidia Goncalves and a dominant third quarter surge, the Salem State women's basketball team was unable to secure a victory against the Bridgewater State Bears, falling 56-47. After outscoring the Bears 23-7 in the third period to take an 11 point lead, the Vikings suffered a late scoring drought that allowed the visitors to rally in the final frame.

Kylie Schrock led the Vikings' offense with a game high 22 points, while the team finished with a perfect 100% mark from the free throw line.

Despite a notable rebounding effort led by Ernidia Goncalves, the Vikings couldn't overcome a tough shooting night and strong performance from Johnson & Wales' Grace Jaffray.
