HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Vikings picked up the doubles point as Madison Sartori (Amesbury, Mass.) and Kenzie McLaren (Lynn, Mass.) earned a hard-fought 7-6 (7-1) win in the No. 1 pairing, while Sophie Games (London, GBR) and Ryann Tripp (Wareham, Mass.) grabbed a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
  • However, in singles action, UMass Dartmouth evened things at one by grabbing a win in No. 2 singles, and eventually the Corsairs earned their first lead with a win in No. 6 singles.
  • UMass Dartmouth continued its momentum by earning a win at No. 5 singles and went up 3-1. However, Tripp made it a one-point game thanks to her 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Despite the win, the hosts secured the playoff victory by earning a victory in No. 3 singles for an overall 4-2 win.
