LEC TOURNAMENT First Round: No. 5 Salem Matches up Against No. 4 UMass Dartmouth in Opening Round
SALEM, Mass. - The No. 5 seeded Salem State women's tennis team (5-4, 4-4 LEC) takes on No. 4 seeded UMass Dartmouth (8-5, 5-3 LEC) in the Little East Conference (LEC) First Round on Tuesday, October 21 at 3:00 p.m. at UMass Dartmouth.

- Salem enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed and has now reached the postseason five times in the last six seasons.
- The Vikings will be aiming to earn the program's second LEC conference championship.
- Salem has now finished with at least four LEC wins in back-to-back seasons.
- Earlier this year, UMass Dartmouth beat Salem in a 4-3 battle in their only regular season match.
- Tuesday's matchup will be the 20th meeting between the two programs. Currently, the Corsairs lead the overall series, 12-7.
Who to Watch For
- The pairing of Samantha Bidzerkowny (Wellsville, N.Y.) and Delaney Cox (Spencer, Mass.) highlighted doubles action this year. The duo go into Tuesday winning their last four doubles matchups and overall finished 7-2 at No. 3 doubles in the regular season.
- In singles play, Ryann Tripp (Wareham, Mass.) led the Vikes this year with a 6-2 record this season. She also had a stretch in the beginning of the year where she won her first five singles matchups. Earlier this year, she won her singles matchup at the No. 5 spot, 6-1, 6-7 (6-8), 6-2.
- UMass Dartmouth will be led by Sofia Beltran who finished the year with a team-high seven wins. In this year's match, Beltran who her matchup at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-4.
- In doubles action, the Corsairs feature a pairing of Ava Aguiar and Gianna Doiron who led UMass Dartmouth with a 4-1 record in doubles this season at the No. 3 spot.
What's Next
The winner will play in the conference's semifinals on Thursday, October 23 at No. 1 seed, Rhode Island College at a time to be determined.
The winner of the 2025 LEC Championship earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA DIII National Tournament, which takes place May 18-26, 2026.
