THE LEAD –  The Salem State women's tennis team continued Little East Conference (LEC) play, traveling to UMass Boston, where the squad fell, 7-0, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In doubles action, UMass Boston took the point by sweeping all three matchups. Samantha Bidzerkowny (Weelsville, N.Y.) and Delaney Cox (Spencer, Mass.) made it a tough out in No. 3 doubles, but ultimately fell, 6-3.
  • The Beacons continued their momentum in singles by sweeping all six matchups against the Vikings, which resulted in an eventual 7-0 win. 
  • In No. 5 singles, Ryann Tripp (Wareham, Mass.) battled to try and get the Vikes a point, but unfortunately dropped a tough 6-3, 6-4 loss. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Saturday's matchup marked the 21st meeting between the two programs, with the Beacons holding an overall lead, 11-10.
  • Madison Sartori (Amesbury, Mass.) and Kenzie McLaren (Lynn, Mass.) saw their doubles win streak end at four. 
  • Saturday's loss was the squad's first road loss of the 2025 season.

  • Salem continues its road trip on Wednesday, October 8, when the squad travels to Southern Maine for a 4:00 p.m. matchup.
