Men's Golf Wraps Up Showing at Tim Brown Invitational

THE LEAD – The Salem State University Men's Golf team returned to action this weekend with a solid showing at the Tim Brown Invitational this weekend.
SALEM STATE HIGHLIGHTS
- Patrick Cotter (Melrose, Mass.) led Salem overall with a 39th-place finish with a score of 139 (+11). During the second round, he had a stretch where he recorded par on the first six holes. Rounding out the top-50 for Salem was Matt Tramonte (Tewksbury, Mass.) with a 46th place finish at 155 (+13). In the first round, Tramonte recorded par or better on the first six holes, which included an eagle on hole two.
- Not far outside the top-50 was Anthony Choukas (Weymouth, Mass.) with a 58th place finish after posting a score of 157 (+15). In the final round, he opened the day with a birdie on hole one. Capping off the rest of the leaderboard for the Vikings were Michael Murphy (Orlando, Fla.) at 160 (+18) and Joe Orlando (Gloucester, Mass.) at 174 (+32) for 74th and 96th place finishes, respectively.
OTHER RESULTS
- Overall, New York University won the invitational with a score of 584 (+11), while Amherst finished one off the lead at 585 (+17). Rounding out the top five were Trinity and Skidmore tied for third at 587 (+19) and Williams in fifth at 591 (+23).
- Andre Zhang of Amerst ended up leading all golfers with a score of 140 (-2).
