SALEM, Mass. - After already being named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Pitcher of the Year and earning a spot on the MASCAC All-Conference First Team, Salem State pitcher/utility student-athlete Nolan Currier (Maynard, Mass.) was named to both the D3baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region II First Teams, as announced by both organizations on Tuesday.

Currier became the first Viking since 2022 to be named to the D3baseball.com All-Region First Team and the first to earn a spot on the ABCA All-Region II First Team since 2016. However, he is the first to earn a spot on both the D3baseball.com All-Region II First Team and the ABCA All-Region II First Team in the same season since 2016.

On the mound, Currier had a career year for Salem, setting numerous career-bests: wins (six), complete games (four), innings pitched (50.1), strikeouts (54), ERA (1.07), and WHIP (0.97. He also led the squad in wins, complete games, K/9 (9.66- min. 35.0 IP), strikeouts, ERA, and WHIP. In terms of the MASCAC, he ranked among the top five in multiple pitching categories, including ERA (1st), wins (2nd), K/9 (5th), and WHIP (2nd). His 1.07 ERA was also the third best in all of Division III and was the only pitcher from the MASCAC to be ranked within the top five in the country. Currier struck out five or more batters in each start, highlighted by a career-high 11 in a 3-0 win over Anna Maria, where he allowed just two hits. Along with his strong season, he was named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week twice.

At the plate, Currier also had a stellar year for the Vikes. He posted 26 hits, six doubles, a career-high three triples, 18 RBIs, a .404 on-base percentage, and a career-high .500 slugging percentage. On the team, he was first in slugging and second in batting average. He also was one of seven Salem hitters to record 15 or more RBIs. In contests where he recorded multiple hits, Salem was 7-2. As for where he stood in the MASCAC for hitting, he was ranked in the top-15 in triples (third), slugging (11th), and batting average (15th).
