Currier Earns MASCAC Pitcher of the Week Award
SALEM, Mass. - After a stellar outing last Friday versus Mass. Maritime, Salem State junior pitcher Nolan Currier (Maynard, Mass.) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
In last Friday's 10-0 shutout of Mass. Maritime, Currier carried a no-hitter through 7.1 innings before allowing a double that was just out of the reach of Salem's diving right fielder. Currier finished the day with the second complete game of his career. He allowed just one hit and tied his season-high in strikeouts with seven.
Coming up for Currier and the Vikings, the squad kicks off a three-game MASCAC series at Worcester State on Friday, April 3, at 3:00 p.m. The squad then wraps up the set with a doubleheader in Salem on Saturday, April 4, starting at noon.
