Salem, Mass. -- Salem State pitchers Andrew McLaughlin (Peabody, Mass.) and Stephen Keskinidis (Stoenham, Mass.) have signed contracts with the High Desert Yardbirds of the Independent Pecos League. McLaughlin and Keskinidis follow former teamate Steve Leavitt '18, who pitched in the league for Ruidoso Oso in 2018. The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs is an independent league operating in cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Southern Arizona, Kansas, West Texas and Southern Colorado.
McLaughlin earned second team All-MASCAC honors after compiling a team-leading 7-1 record for the Vikings this season, finishing second in the league in wins while posting a 2.41 ERA. Keskinidis led Salem State with a 1.60 ERA in eight appearances, earning a 3-2 record, which included a no-hitter on April 19 against Fitchburg State while racking up 43 strikeouts in 33.2 innings pitched.
