  • Women's Soccer Places Four on All-MASCAC Conference Team

    SALEM, MASS. – Midfielder Ashley Leboeuf (Dracut, Mass.) and defender Kaitlyn Curley (Wilmington, Mass.) were each named to the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team while Colleen Hurley (Braintree, Mass.) and Ceara Kelly (Holbrook, Mass.) earned second team honors as announced by the league on Wednesday. Leboeuf is appearing on the first team for the second consecutive season after scoring five goals and and an assist – 11 points while starting in all 19 games for Salem State, which finished 6-11-2 and in fifth place in the MASCAC, but earned a trip to the conference finals after upsetting top seed Worcester State in a shootout.

  • October 27th's Women's Soccer and Field Hockey Games Rescheduled

    SALEM, Mass. -- Due to the impending torrential rain expected this Saturday, October 27, this weekend's home field hockey and women's soccer games have been rescheduled. Women's soccer which will be celebrating "Senior Night" has been moved to Friday, October 26 at 7:00 PM. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at 7:00 PM. Field hockey, which will also be honoring its seniors, will still be played on Saturday, October 27th, but the game will now be played at 12:00 PM instead of the originally scheduled time of 4:00 PM.

    SALEM, Mass. - Taylor Capozzi (Lynn, Mass.) scored two goals in the Salem State Vikings’ 4-2 win over the Plymouth State Panthers on Wednesday evening at Alumni Field. Salem State improves their record to 5-10 on the season while the Panthers fall to 6-7-2.

    SALEM, Mass - Taylor Capozzi’s (Lynn, Mass.) two-goal, one assist effort helped the Salem State Vikings defeat the MCLA Trailblazers 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in the Vikings annual "Think Pink" game. Salem State improves to 4-10 on the season and the Trailblazers slip to 5-10 on the year.

    SALEM, Mass. – Madeline Cheney’s (Bow, N.H.) two-goal effort helped push the Endicott Gulls past the Salem State Vikings 3-0. The Gulls are now 7-4-4 on the season and the Vikings fall to 3-9 on the year.

    WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University women’s soccer team defeated the Salem State Vikings by a score of 2-0 on Saturday at Coughlin Field in a Senior Day matchup. The Lancers improve their record to 7-6 (5-0 in MASCAC). The Vikings fall to 3-8 (2-3 in MASCAC).
  • Tufts Blanks Salem State 3-0

    MEDFORD, Mass. -- Tufts placed 18 shots on net while holding Salem State to just one in a 3-0 win over the Vikings on Tuesday afternoon at Kraft Field. The Jumbos (7-2-2) totalled 44 for the game in earning their seventh shutout of the season. The Vikings are now 3-7 on the season.
  • Salem State Topples Fitchburg State 5-1

    Fitchburg, Mass. – Salem State jumped out to a 4-0 lead before settling for a 5-1 victory over Fitchburg State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Elliot Field. The Vikings even their conference record at 2-2 and move to 3-6 overall. The Falcons slide to 1-3 in the MASCAC and 2-8-1.

    WENHAM, Mass. -- Gordon took a 3-1 lead into halftime before cruising to a 5-1 victory over Salem State in non-conference women's soccer action at Brigham Athletic Complex on Tuesday night. The Fighting Scots improve to 7-4 while the Vikings slip to 2-6.

    SALEM, Mass. – Olivia Mihalek (Northborough, Mass.) scored a goal and added the game-winning assist in Framingham State’s  3-2 win over the Vikings of Salem State on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Rams earned their first win of the season and are now 1-7 on the year and go to 1-2 in the MASCAC. Salem State falls to 2-5 and 1-2 in conference.

    BUZZARDS BAY, Mass – Katie Brown (Milford, Mass.) and Ashley Leboeuf (Dracut, Mass.) each notched two goals as Salem State used a five-goal second half to pull away from the Mass Maritime Buccaneers 6-1 in MASCAC action on Saturday evening. The Vikings improve to 2-4 and even their record at 1-1 in conference. Mass Maritime slides to 1-5 and 0-2 in conference.

    SALEM, Mass. – Bridgewater State received goals from four different players as the Bears erased a one-goal deficit at halftime to defeat Salem State 4-1 at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon. Bridgewater State improves to (2-2-1) and (1-0) in the MASCAC while the Vikings slip to (1-3) and (0-1) in conference.

    GORHAM, Maine -- Salem State went toe-to-toe with unbeaten Southern Maine, but Ciera Berthiaume (Windham, Maine) scored in the 103rd minute to give the Huskies a hard fought 1-0 victory over Salem State. Southern Maine moves to 5-0 while the Vikings slip to 1-2.
  • Brown Lifts Salem State Past UMass Dartmouth

    SALEM, Mass. -- Katie Brown (Milford, Mass.) converted a penalty kick in the 75h minute to lift Salem State to a 1-0 victory over UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. The win was the first of the year for the Vikings, who even their record at 1-1. The Corsairs slip to 2-1-1.

    SALEM, MASS. – Head Coach Nicolle Wood's women's soccer squad has been picked fourth in a vote by the league's coaches in the 2018 MASCAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. Salem State picked up 29 points,16 points behind preseason favorite Westfield State.
