    SALEM, Mass. – Grace Dos Santos (Brockton, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in extra time as the Vikings defeated UMASS Dartmouth 2-1. Lucas Amaral (Peabody, Mass.) found Dos Santos on a breakaway and the forward beat Danny Andrade (New Bedford, Mass.) from five yards out for the game-winner just over a minute in overtime.

    BOSTON -- Two first period scores proved to be the difference as Wentworth defeated Salem State 2-1,ending the Vikings' season opening four-game win streak. Salem State is now 4-1 on the year while the Leopards go to 3-1-1.

    BOSTON -- Gabriel Meireles (Everett, Mass.) and Felipe Montiel (Maracaibo, Venezuela) both scored as Salem State earned their fourth straight victory with a 2-1 victory over Emerson on Saturday at Rotch Field. The Vikings now stand at at 4-0 while the Lions remain winless at 0-3.

    SALEM, MASS. – Salem State secured their third straight shutout with a 3-0 victory over Becker on Wednesday evening at Alumni Field. Lucas Amaral (Peabody, Mass.) and Igor Caldas (Victoria, Brazil) each notched first period scores as goalie Christopher Jimenez (Nashua, N.H.) extended his scoreless streak to 360 minutes. Jiminez had a career best four-game shutout streak a season ago.

    SALEM, MASS. -- Edwin Demoya (Salem, Mass.) scored in the 17th minute and Salem State’s defense held firm as the Vikings notched their second consecutive shutout with a 2-0 win over Curry College in the championship game of the Salem State Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
  • Salem State Scores Late, Shuts Out Southern Vermont 2-0

    SALEM, MASS. -- Felipe Montiel (Maracaibo, Venezuela) broke a scoreless tie in the 85th minute and Gabriel Meireles (Everett, Mass.) added another goal less than a minute later as Salem State pulled away late to claim a 2-0 victory over Southern Vermont in the opener for both teams on Friday evening at Alumni Field. The Vikings will face Curry College in the championship game of the two-day Salem State Tournament tomorrow at 4:00 PM. The Colonels, defeated Anna Maria 1-0 in overtime to advance.
  • Salem State Athletics Kicks Off its 2018-19 Campaign on Friday, August 31st

    SALEM, MASS. – Salem State kicks off its 2018-19 campaign on Friday, August 31st, as men's soccer hosts the Salem State Tournament to highlight three games on opening day at Alumni Field. Field hockey will begin play at noon against North Shore rival Gordon College, before Anna Maria and Curry open the men's soccer season at 3:00 PM. Salem State, the defending conference champions, will host Southern Vermont at 6:00 PM to cap the day.  On Saturday, the tournament will continue with the consolation match at 1:00 PM followed by the championship game at 4:00 PM.

  • Men's Soccer Voted Preseason #1 in MASCAC Poll

    Salem, Mass.— The 2017 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer regular season and tournament champions Salem State have been picked to repeat this season as selected by the eight coaches from around the league. Salem State received six first place votes for 47 points in this year's poll. The Vikings finished the MASCAC season 7-0 on their way to the conference regular season title. Returning for the defending champs is All-Conference goalie Chris Jimenez (Nashua, N.H.), who between the pipes last season led the league in goals against average (0.98) and save percentage (.838) while finishing third in saves (83) and goals against (16).
