Senior Danielle Jenkins has been selected to participate in the 2010 New England Women's Basketball Association senior All-Star Classic. Jenkins, who was named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference player of the year, averaged 17.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. The NEWBA has become a great tradition and a memorable way for many seniors to finish their collegiate careers. Buzzards Bay, Mass. -- Salem State College freshman forward Nick Lampson (Groton, Mass.) was tabbed as the 2009-10 MASCAC Rookie of the Year after netting 16 goals and 12 assists for a team-best 28 points during his inaugural collegiate campaign. The 2009-10 MASCAC second-team all-conference squad was highlighted by two Salem State players. Senior forward Chris MacInnis (Waltham, MA), and defenseman Sam Cannata (Bozeman, MT) each earned conference honors and were joined by Westfield State’s Casey Mignone, Framingham State’s Joe Hurley and Worcester State’s Mark Rintel at forward. Buzzards Bay, MA -- The Salem State men's ice hockey team team earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming MASCAC Ice Hockey tournament. The Vikings finished in second place behind Fitchburg State in the conference with an 11-3-4 record and 13-8-4 overall. Salem State will host the winner of the quarter-final game between No. 3 seed Plymouth State and No.6 seed Worcester State in a semi-final match on Thursday night at 7:00 PM. Framingham, Mass. — The Framingham State College men’s basketball team used an 8-0 run over the final 1:30 of the game to defeat the Salem State College Vikings 78-70 in one Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Basketball Tournament Semifinal game tonight at Framingham’s Athletic Center.
