Vikings Rout Emerson 14-3

Salem, MA -- Justin Jones, Mike Parisella, Jonathan Falls and Ryan Savini each scored two goals as the Salem State Vikings routed the Emerson College Lions 14-3 at Alumni Field on Thursday evening.
Salem State (6-2) jumped out to a 6-0 first period lead and held a comfortable 10-1 margin at intermission before cruising to the easy victory.
Jones, who also tallied two assists got the Vikings offense going early scoring his first goal just eleven seconds into the opening period. Savini and Parisella added two more scores just a minute and a half later and the Vikings lead was 3-0. Jones, Robert Mulroy and Brandon Cali added three more scores before the period ended to extend the lead to six goals.
Gaven Norton and Kyle Dolan opened up the scoring for Salem State in the second period before Emerson's Zoe Fisk on an assist from Dan Gold ended the shutout to make the score 8-1.
Parisella and Falls added two more goals before the half to give the Vikings a 10-1 lead.
Mike McIver, who also had an assist, closed out the scoring in the third period with his first goal of the season at the 11:25 mark to make the score 11-1.
Savini, Joe Maroney, and Falls each added third period scores for Salem State, which has now won four straight.
Justin Zawlinski and Falls had a goal each in the final period to make the final 14-3.
Brendan Gill started in goal and played just one period to pick up his sixth win of the year.
Braden Campbell made seven saves in the loss for the Lions (2-4).
The Vikings outshot Emerson 33-9, and had a 15-5 advantage in face-offs.
Salem State travels to Keene State on Saturday, April 10th for a Little East match beginning at 1:00 PM.
