Lady Vikings Host "Dig Pink Night"

Salem, MA – The Salem State volleyball team hosted "Dig Pink" night as part of their match tonight against the Mt. Ida College Mustangs. The game, which drew the largest crowd of the season, was used to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The event featured raffles, giveaways, and the chance to win Boston Bruins tickets. Prizes were also awarded to the fans who wore the most pink. All proceeds were donated to the Side-Out Foundation.
Mount Ida won the contest 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-16), to raise their record to 14-9 on the year. Salem State dropped to 6-21 on the season
Sophomore Jazmine Barrows (New Bedford, Mass.) led the Lady Vikings with 14 assists and 9 digs. Juniors Rebecca Chapa (Westford, Mass.) and Katie McKenna (Beverly, Mass.) also played well, combining for 11 kills and 18 digs in the loss.
