Salem State Drops 3-1 Decision to Bridgewater State

(Salem, MA) – The Salem State Lady Vikings dropped a 3-1 decision to the Bridgewater State Bears in a MASCAC conference game on Tuesday night. The Lady Vikings won the first game, 25-23 before being swept three straight, 25-10, 26-24, and 25-17.
Bridgewater State improved to 6-15 overall and remained undefeated in conference at 5-0, while moving into a tie for first place with Westfield State. Salem State fell to 6-20 and 1-3 in conference
Jazmin Barrows (New Bedford, Mass.) paced the Lady Vikings with 11 assists and 12 digs. Katie McKenna (Beverly, Mass.) also had a good game with four kills and 15 digs.
Brittany Roscoe (Lowell, Mass.) had eight digs for the Lady Vikings, which have dropped seven of their past eight matches.
Natalie Cohen (Marston Mills, Mass.) led the Bridgewater State with 46 assists. The Bears also received excellent play from Brianne Cobb (New Bedford, Mass.), 28 digs, Shelly DePina (New Bedford, Mass.), 14 kills, and Julie Clerc (Acushnet, Mass), 13 kills.
Salem State will host Mount Ida College on Thursday, October 22 at 6:00 PM.
