Salem, MA - The Salem State Lady Vikings picked up their first conference win of 2009, beating the Mass Maritime Buccaneers, 3-0 on Monday afternoon.
Salem State, which won 25-8, 25-13, and 25-8 was led by sophomore hitter, Brittany Roscoe (Lowell, Mass.) who had a team-high 15 digs and service aces (7). Katie McKenna (Beverly, Mass.) and Rebecca Chapa (Westford, Mass.) each played well, combining for 12 kills and 21 digs.
The win improved the Lady Vikings to, 6-18 overall, and 1-1 in conference.The Buccaneers dropped to 0-17, and 0-5 in the MASCAC.
Salem State will next play at Worcester State on Thursday, October 15th at 7:00 PM. The game will be webcast by Penn Atlantic.
